AOH/LAOH Division 61 Scholarship Page

Annually through the Harry Rutter Sr. Memorial Award (AOH)
and the Maureen T. Lavin Scholarship Program (LAOH),
our division awards Catholic High School tuition assistance to deserving 8th graders.

Starting in 2003, Division 61 created the Kevin M. Pierce Scholarship Fund for a deserving student at Northeast Catholic. This fund was established to honor the memory of Past President and Steward Kevin Pierce a '73 graduate of North. It is funded by a Beef and Beer and Basketball Marathon that will be held each spring.

*Harry Rutter was a longtime member of Div. 61. He and his wife Marie were killed in a tragic automobile accident. Harry and Marie were the parents and aunt and uncle to many members of both the AOH and LAOH.

Maureen T. Lavin* Tuition Award Recipients
*Maureen T. Lavin was the niece of LAOH member Terry Travis. Maureen was tragically killed as an innocent bystander during an armed robbery. The Lavin family from a fund maintained in Maureen's honor matches the funds raised by the LAOH.

2011 Awards
Through our fundraising activities, Irish Potatoes and Turkey bingo, the division was able to award five scholarships in 2011.  Each recipients received $1,500.00 towards the tuition plus two gift cards, $100.00 towards uniforms and $50.00 towards shoes.
